1Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and repent.info ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the site, including just visiting someone's page, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use repent.info.
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it, and is part of these terms.
2Who can use repent.info
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission and they should read these terms with you.
- You can't use repent.info if we've banned you before, unless staff have agreed to let you back.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.
3Your account
- Give a real email address you can access. We may use it for password and security messages.
- Keep your password safe and turn on two-factor authentication if you can. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
- Usernames are first come, first served. We may take back or change a username that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, is offensive, or is being held just to sell it.
- Don't sell, trade or give away your account.
4Your content
"Your content" means everything you put on repent.info: your profile, bio, links, pictures, backgrounds, music, uploaded files, templates, comments and reports.
- You keep ownership of your content.
- You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, resize, convert and display your content, only so we can run repent.info. For example, to show your page to visitors, make link previews, or show your template in the template gallery if you publish one.
- This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we have to keep for legal or safety reasons, or that other users already made from a public template.
- You promise you have the right to post everything you upload, and that it doesn't break these terms or the law.
Your profile page, its comments and anything you share by link are public. Anyone with the link can see them.
5Content and behaviour rules
You must not post, upload, link to or do any of the following:
- Anything illegal, or that encourages or helps someone break the law.
- Any sexual content involving minors, of any kind. We report this to the authorities.
- Pornography or sexually explicit material.
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that promotes self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Hate speech, or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or sharing someone's private information (doxxing).
- Pretending to be another person, brand or repent.info staff.
- Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, or links to malware, IP grabbers or account stealers.
- Spam, or mass-advertising other services.
- Selling illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or stolen accounts.
- Content you don't have the rights to, such as other people's art, music or videos (see Copyright).
6Fair play and security
Don't:
- Fake profile views, link clicks, likes, dislikes or invites with bots, scripts, proxies, view-for-view groups or extra accounts.
- Make extra accounts to get around a ban, a limit, or the leaderboard.
- Scrape the site, or use automated tools on it, apart from normal search engines and link-preview bots.
- Try to break into, overload, or find holes in repent.info, other than reporting them to us responsibly (see below).
- Use repent.info as general file storage for a different website or app, or upload files mainly to avoid paying for hosting elsewhere.
Found a security bug? Please report it privately to us instead of using it. If it's real, we're happy to give you the Bug Hunter badge.
We remove fake views and other engagement, and we may reset stats or take away badges that were earned unfairly.
7Copyright and takedowns
If you think something on repent.info infringes your copyright or other rights, email us (see Contact) with:
- the link to the page or file,
- what you own and how it's being infringed,
- your name and contact details, and
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or are allowed to act for the owner.
We'll remove material that clearly infringes, and may suspend accounts that keep doing it. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, reply to the notice and tell us why.
8Moderation
- Anyone can report a profile or file. Staff review reports and may remove content, hide a page, take away badges, or suspend or ban an account, temporarily or permanently.
- We can act without warning when something is serious, illegal, or puts people at risk.
- Profile owners can delete comments on their own page. Staff can delete any comment.
- We're not able to check everything that's posted and aren't responsible for content made by users. But we act on reports.
- If you think a decision about your account was wrong, contact us and we'll take another look.
9Law enforcement requests
We only accept requests for user data or content removal from government and law enforcement agencies. Send requests by email to support@repent.info with "Law enforcement request" in the subject line. Each request must include:
- The name of your law enforcement agency or authority, including the country and, where relevant, the state, province or region.
- Proof of your authority, such as your badge or warrant card number, your agency's contact details, or other documents showing you're allowed to make the request.
- An email address on an official government or law enforcement domain. We don't respond to requests sent from personal or free email accounts.
- A written request in English, or with an English translation attached.
- The legal basis for the request (for example a court order, warrant, subpoena or production order) and exactly what information or action you're asking for.
- Details that identify the relevant repent.info account or content, such as the username, user ID (UID), profile link (repent.info/username), file link, or anything else that helps us find it.
- Whether the user can lawfully be told about the request.
- Whether the content could expose repent.info's operators to criminal liability under the laws of your jurisdiction if no action is taken.
We review every request and may refuse, or ask for more information about, requests that are incomplete, too broad, or not legally valid. We only hold the limited data described in our Privacy Policy, and data that has already been deleted can't be recovered.
Telling the user. Unless your request says we must not, or the law forbids it, we may tell the user that their information was requested or their content was removed because of a law enforcement request.
Preservation. We can preserve a snapshot of an account's data for up to 90 days while you get formal legal process, if you send a preservation request with the details above.
Emergencies. If there is a risk of death or serious physical harm, put URGENT REQUEST in the subject line and explain the emergency, and we'll respond as quickly as we can. In a genuine emergency we may share information without formal legal process where the law allows it.
This process is only for authorities. If you're a user who needs help, use the report button on the profile or file, or contact your local police if someone is in danger.
10A free service, provided as-is
repent.info is free. Donations, if we offer them, are optional, don't unlock features, and aren't refundable unless the law says otherwise.
We work hard to keep the site running and your files safe, but we provide repent.info "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be online, error-free, or that files will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important. You can export your account data from Settings.
We may change, add or remove features, change limits such as file sizes, or close repent.info. If we plan to shut down, we'll try to give at least 30 days' notice so you can save your content.
11Other websites and services
Pages on repent.info link to other websites, and some features show information from other services, such as Discord status, Spotify, GitHub, Roblox and Steam. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for them. Using them is covered by their own terms.
repent.info isn't connected to, or endorsed by, Discord, Spotify, GitHub, Roblox, Steam or any other company whose name or logo appears on the site.
12Leaving repent.info
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This deletes your page, links, uploads, templates, likes and comments straight away. Some records may stay for a short time in backups or where we need them for safety or legal reasons, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're legally required to, or if the account has been unused for a long time and we've tried to warn you first.
13Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. It also doesn't affect your legal rights as a consumer.
Apart from that, and as far as the law allows:
- We aren't responsible for content posted by users, or for other websites linked from repent.info.
- We aren't liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect losses.
- Because the service is free, our total liability to you for anything to do with repent.info is limited to £50.
If you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable costs it causes us.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll show a notice on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using repent.info after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
15Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in another country, you may also have the right to bring a claim where you live.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later.
